I feel that more engineers need to have a better understanding of other cultures so that they can think outside the ideas of their own country. Our cultures make us who we are, but I feel without understanding the culture of a country in which

I am a sixty-three year old man that has grown up in this city I call home. As a young man I made the commitment to protect our environment so that we may enjoy all it has to offer for many generations to come. I also developed a strong connection to civil rights movements and was a regular participant in protests, such as Occupy Phoenix. A growing concern of mine is the rate at which our nations consumerism is growing. Current and future engineers need to be conscious of what materials are being developed and used in products as they have a direct effect on our environmental degradation.

I’ve been very disappointed with the level of math and science used in design projects to optimize their designs. I love finding mathematical representations that model the behavior of products used today. I pride myself in how well I can predict behaviors of different products with theoretical models.
